The petitioner has filed the present petition impugning the order dated 16.03.2017, passed by respondent no.1.

The petitioner had moved a complaint of an illegal mining on defence land at Tilpat, sector 37, Faridabad. It is also the petitioner's case that the defence personnel (Indian Air Force personnel) were hand in glove with sand mafia and had permitted such illegal mining.

The petitioners had made several representations to various authorities including with the Prime Minister of India, which was forwarded to the

respondents. After enquiry, the respondents have come to the conclusion that there was no involvement in the past of the officials of IAF and the claim made by the petitioner was found to be incorrect. 5.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner states that there are no private interests involved in the matter. In this view, it is apparent that the petition is in the nature of a Public Interest Litigation (PIL), however, has not filed as such.

Accordingly, the petition is dismissed. It is clarified that dismissal of the present petition would not preclude the petitioner from filing an appropriate PIL.
