The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that directions be issued to the respondents to permit petitioner no.2 to donate one of her kidneys to petitioner no.1 at respondent no.3 hospital. It is stated that petitioner nos.1 & 2 are closely related; they hail from the same village and it is stated that petitioner no.2 is the wife of petitioner no.1's cousin. 4.
This Court is also informed that there is an Authorization Committee at respondent no.3. In the circumstances, the present petition is disposed of
by directing the petitioner to approach the Authorization Committee at respondent no.3.
The said Authorization Committee shall examine the request of the petitioners, in accordance with the Transplantation of Human Organs and Tissues Rules, 2014 and also having regard to the decision of this Court in Praveen Begum & Anr. v. Appellate Authority & Anr. (2012) 189 DLT 427. The Authorisation Committee is requested to examine the case on an urgent basis and in any event, not later than one week from the petitioner making such an application.
