This petition has been filed under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 (hereinafter referred to as the 'Act') seeking extension of time for making of the Arbitral Award by the Sole Arbitrator adjudicating the disputes that have arisen between the parties. 2.

Counsel for the respondent who appears on an advance notice submits that the respondent has no objection if the time for making of the Award is extended by this Court, however, such extension should be granted only for a period of two months as prayed for in the petition. 3.

On the other hand learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the Arbitral Tribunal has already heard the parties and only an Award is to be passed. He further submits that in order to prevent the parties from coming

back to the Court with a similar request at a later stage, this Court may extend the time by a further period of three months as there are voluminous documents that have been filed before the Arbitral Tribunal. The Arbitral Tribunal may take time to peruse the same and pass the Award. 4.

Having considered the submissions made by the counsels for the parties, the time for making of the Award is extended by a further period of three months with effect from 26th November, 2018. 5.

The petition is allowed in the above terms and with no order as to cost.
