The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that the FIR bearing no. 872/2016 under Sections 498A/406/34 of the IPC, registered with Police Station Neb Sarai, be quashed. The said FIR was registered at the instance of respondent no.2. 2.

The present petition is premised on a settlement arrived at between the concerned parties (petitioners and respondent no.2). 3.

Respondent no.2 is present in Court and is identified by the IO. She states that the said FIR was registered in view of the matrimonial disputes between her and petitioner no.1, which have been since been resolved in terms of a settlement arrived at before the Mediation Centre, Saket Courts on 20.09.2018.

It is stated that the amount of ₹5,00,000/- as Mehar has already been

paid to respondent no.2. She acknowledges the receipt of the said amount. In addition, petitioner no.1 had also undertaken to pay a sum of ₹10,000/- per month and the said amount has also been paid. 5.

Respondent no.2 states that she has received all the amounts due to her and no further sums are due and payable by the petitioners. She also states that she has no grievance against the petitioners and joins them in praying that the FIR in question be quashed.

The petitioners are present in Court and identified by their counsel. They also state that they have no grievance against respondent no.2. 7.

In view of the above, the petition is allowed. The FIR bearing no. 872/2016 under Sections 498A/406/34 of the IPC, registered with Police Station Neb Sarai and all proceedings emanating therefrom, are quashed. 8.

The concerned parties (petitioners and respondent no.2) shall sign this order as an acknowledgement of their statements recorded herein. VIBHU BAKHRU, J NOVEMBER 13, 2019/RK
