% 18.05.2016 Learned counsel for the respondent seeks an adjournment; this adjournment has been opposed.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the trial is being deliberately delayed and here also respondent is not present to argue the petition.

At this stage, it is agreed that this petition may not be pressed on merits if expedition in the trial is directed. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the pleadings are complete and the matter is now listed for evidence. Learned counsel for the petitioner/landlord submits that three witnesses are to be examined on his behalf; per contra, tenant will examine two witnesses.

In this background, the Trial Court shall endeavour to expedite

the trial and dispose of the petition preferably within an outer limit of 14 months from the date of the receipt of this order. Petition disposed of.
