% 29.05.2018 Mr. Pradeep Sachdeva, father and attorney of respondent no.2 is present in Court and has been identified by ASI Satyavir Singh of police station Khyala. He submits that matter has been settled between the respondent no.2 and petitioner before the Mediation & Conciliation Centre, Jhajjar on 26th May, 2015 vide Annexure 'C'.
Marriage between the petitioner and respondent no.2 has already been dissolved by a decree of divorce by mutual consent dated 15th February, 2016 passed by the District Judge, Jhajjar. Photocopy of the decree sheet has been placed on record at page 41. He further submits that entire settled amount has already been paid by the petitioner to the respondent no.2. He also submits that he has got the instructions from the respondent no.2 to convey to this Court that she has no
objection in case FIR No. 97/2010 under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC registered at police station Khyala and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.
Power of Attorney executed by the respondent no.2 in favour of Mr. Pradeep Sachdeva has been placed on record, which has been marked as Mark C. He has identified his signatures and that of respondent no. 2 at point X and Y in the General Power of Attorney.
Keeping in mind the settlement arrived at between the petitioner and respondent no. 2 voluntarily, in my view, no fruitful purpose would be served to keep the criminal proceedings pending. Accordingly, in the interest of justice, aforesaid FIR and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.
Petition is disposed of in the above terms.
