% 15.09.2017 This is a writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India filed by the petitioner, Ajay Gautam, who appears in person. Mr. Gautam submits that his prime prayer is with regard to installation of the CCTV cameras in all the police stations. He points out that as of today, there are 192 police stations and 42 police chowkis, whereas only 59 police stations are partly under the surveillance of CCTV cameras.

Mr. Rahul Mehra, learned counsel who enters appearance on an advance copy, submits that the very same issue is the subject-matter of WP(C) No.7927/2012, which is listed before another Division Bench of this Court. A copy of the order dated 17.2.2016 passed in WP(C) No. 7927/2012

has been supplied by Mr. Mehra to Mr. Gautam. Based on the submissions so made, Mr. Gautam submits that he does not press this writ petition. However, he would make an appropriate application seeking impleadment in the pending writ petition and assist the Court.

As far as the first prayer is concerned, he admits that the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India in the case of Lalita Kumari v. Govt. of U.P., (2014) 2 SCC 1 has already issued various guidelines in the aforesaid matter.

The writ petition is dismissed as not pressed, in view of the above statement.
