The petitioner has filed a petition for dissolution of marriage against the respondent in March, 2013 which is pending before the Family Court and the next date of hearing is fixed for 5th April, 2018. The petitioner is seeking expeditious hearing and disposal of the divorce petition. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the respondent is delaying divorce proceedings which is disputed by the counsel for the respondent who submits that he has not delayed the divorce proceedings. 3.

It is further submitted that the petitioner sought amendment of the divorce petition which was allowed and the amended petition has not yet been filed. It is further submitted that the petitioner filed a false FIR against the respondent's parents and relatives on 10th September, 2017. 4.

Learned counsel for the respondent seeks further time to file the counter affidavit and the relevant documents. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has filed the amended petition to which

the respondent has raised the objections and the matter is listed for hearing on 5th April, 2018.

Learned counsels for both the parties submit that they would not delay the proceedings and would not seek any unnecessary adjournment from the Family Court. In that view of the matter, the petition is allowed and the Family Court is directed to expedite the hearing of the divorce petition and endeavour to decide the same within a period of 18 months from today. 6.

The record of the Family Court has not been received. If the same is received, the registry shall return back the same forthwith. 7.

Copy of this order be given dasti to counsel for the appellant under signature of Court Master.
