% 18.07.2017 Pleadings in this case do not state at all that the petitioner has any claim to ownership or is an interested person in suit lands. The only assertion made is that he is the successor-in-interest of the lineal descendants of the original land owner. No further explanation is given. In these circumstances, the Court is, prima facie, of the opinion that the petitioner lacks locus standi to claim relief under Section 24(2) of the Right to Fair Compensation & Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation & Resettlement Act, 2013.

In view of this development, learned counsel seeks liberty to withdraw the writ petition and file an appropriate petition with full particulars on behalf of those who claim ownership. The writ petition is dismissed as withdrawn.
