The petitioner has moved the present petition under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 for quashing of FIR No.184/2016, under Sections 354/354A/509/323 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, registered at PS: Naraina Vihar, Delhi and the consequential proceedings emanating therefrom.

The petitioner and respondent No.2 as well as their respective learned counsel submitted that the matter has been settled inter se between the parties on their own free will, without any force, coercion or pressure. The petitioner, present

in Court, has also tendered an unconditional apology for his behaviour in the court.

Respondent No.2, who is present in Court alongwith her maternal uncle, submitted that she is not interested in continuing with the criminal proceedings emanating from the aforesaid FIR and wants to live a peaceful life. Respondent No.2 has also stated that the petition may be allowed and the FIR may be quashed.

The Investigating Officer, who is present in Court, has identified the petitioner as well as respondent No.2 and has also verified about the settlement between the parties. 5.

In view of the aforesaid circumstances, the settlement arrived at between the parties and the unconditional apology tendered by the petitioner, this Court is of the view that no fruitful purpose would be served in keeping the parties entangled in the criminal proceedings. Accordingly, in the interest of justice, FIR No. 184/2016 under Sections 354/354A/509/323 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, registered at PS: Naraina Vihar, New Delhi and the consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.

Petition is disposed of in above terms.
