% 23.01.2018 It is submitted that petitioner and respondent No. 2 are neighbours.

A quarrel took place between the petitioner and the respondent No. 2 which led to registration of FIR No. 296/2014 under Sections 323/341/354/506/509 IPC and Sections 8/12 of POCSO Act, registered at Police Station Khayala on the complaint of respondent No.2. With the intervention of their common friends and relatives, petitioner and respondent No.2 have settled their disputes, therefore, FIR and the consequent proceedings may be quashed. Compromise deed dated 13.09.2017 has been placed on record. Respondent No.2 has been identified by SI Ram Bhan of PS Khayala. Respondent No.2, who is presently 21 years of age, says that she has no objection in case FIR is quashed.

Keeping in view the settlement arrived at between the petitioner

and respondent no. 2 voluntarily, I am of the view that no fruitful purpose would be served to keep the criminal proceedings pending. Accordingly, FIR and the consequent proceedings emanating thereform are quashed.
