1. The Petitioner, who is a Constable/GD with the CISF, is aggrieved by his non-selection in the post of Head Constable (HC) in the CISF through the Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE) held in 2015.
2. As it transpires a fresh advertisement for the recruitment to the post of Head Constable/Ministerial inter alia through LDCE to be held in 2019, by has been issued. The unfilled vacancies of HC including those for the LDCE quota, have been included in the fresh advertisement. There was no interim order passed directing the keeping of one vacancy unfilled for the Petitioner
when the present petition was first heard on 15th December, 2017. Therefore, it will not be possible for this Court to grant any relief to the Petitioner even if he succeeds.
3. As far as the 2019 exam is concerned, the Court directs that the deadline for Petitioner to apply for the post of HC/Ministerial shall stand extended till 30th April, 2019.
4. The petition is disposed of in the above terms. Pending application is also disposed of.
