The petitioner hands over a letter dated 27.11.2017, addressed by the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Haryana, Panchkula to the Principal Secretary, Government of Haryana, Forest Department, Chandigarh, intimating him about the re-fixation of pension and release of arrears of revised pension etc. to him w.e.f. 26.08.2015, the date on which the Tribunal had passed the judgment in O.A. 3848/2014, quashing the penalty imposed upon him. The said letter is taken on record. 2.

The petitioner states that in view of the aforesaid order, the only aspect that survives for consideration is the interest that he would be entitled in respect of the pensionary dues and commutation of pension. He states that earlier hereto, he had filed a writ petition in this Court, registered as W.P.(C) 8677/2015, for grant of interest on the delayed payment of retiral W.P.(C) 8785/2017

benefits, which was allowed by a Co-ordinate Bench vide judgment dated 11.09.2015 and he had been granted interest @ 9% per annum for the delayed payment of pension and gratuity.

A copy of the said judgment dated 11.09.2015 is handed over by the petitioner, for our perusal and taken on record.

Having regard to the fact that the respondents have passed the order dated 27.11.2017, directing release of arrears of pension, etc. to the petitioner, it is deemed appropriate to direct them to pay interest on the aforesaid amount at the P.P.F. rate w.e.f. 26.08.2015, within eight weeks from today.
