O R D E R

% 28.05.2018 C.M. No.22710/2018 This is an application filed by respondent no.1 seeking extension of one month‟s time to hold the next CTET Examination, 2018. It may be noted that vide order dated 12.04.2018, respondents were directed to hold the CTET examination within a period of four months. Learned counsel for the applicant submits that though the respondents are making all efforts to hold the examination in an expeditious manner, since the holding of the said examination initially requires certain inputs from NCTE, there has been a slight delay in holding of the said examination. He submits that the respondents have now taken a considered decision to hold the said examination on

16th September, 2018 for which necessary arrangements are underway.

On the other hand, learned counsel for the petitioners submits the respondents had in their meeting held in December, 2017 already decided to hold the next CTET examination in July/August, 2018 and, therefore, contends that there is no justification for grant of one month‟s further time to the respondent no.1 for holding the CTET. Having considered the rival contentions of the parties, I am of the considered view that the application deserves to be allowed. I find that in the application, the respondent no.1 has given sufficient valid justification for further time needed by respondent no.1 to made adequate arrangements for holding the CTET, 2018. Accordingly, the application is allowed. The respondent no.

1 is permitted to hold the said examination on 16th September, 2018 instead of within four months time granted by this Court vide its order dated 12th April, 2018. It is further directed that the results of the CTET 2018 be declared expeditiously and preferably within a period of eight weeks from the date of holding of the exam on 16.09.2018. The application stands disposed of in the aforesaid terms.
