% 11.01.2018 Respondent no. 2 Ms. Salma is present in Court and has been identified by ASI Yashpal Singh of police station Karawal Nagar. Respondent no. 2 admits having settled the matter with petitioner no. 1 of her own free will, voluntarily and without any undue force, pressure or coercion. Respondent no. 2 says that she has received the entire settled amount of `2,80,000/- from the petitioner no. 1 in terms of the settlement arrived at before the Delhi Mediation Centre, Karkardooma Courts, Delhi on 17th March, 2015 and she has no objection in case FIR is quashed against the petitioner no. 1 and his relatives, that is, petitioner nos. 2 to 9.

Keeping in mind the settlement arrived at between the petitioner no. 1

and respondent no. 2 voluntarily and that respondent no. 2 is not willing to pursue the FIR any further, in my view, no fruitful purpose would be served to keep the criminal proceedings pending. Accordingly, in the interest of justice, FIR No.297/2012 under Sections 498-A/406/34 IPC and Section 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961 registered at Police Station Karawal Nagar and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed. Petition is disposed of in the above terms. Miscellaneous application is disposed of as infructuous. Dasti.
