This Public Interest Petition has been filed with a prayer to direct the respondents to implement the recommendations of Expert Group Committee constituted by the respondent No.2/Union of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare regarding the prevailing conditions in the Government hospitals.

A copy of the recommendations made by the Expert Committee has been filed as 'Annexure-P3'. In pursuance of our order dated 04.11.2015, a detailed Action Taken Report has been filed by the Joint Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of NCT of Delhi stating that various issues pertaining to vacancy position of medical/para-

medical/nursing staff, procurement of medicines and equipment and reference of patients to private hospitals under the EWS Category were discussed at length in the meeting convened by the Spl. Secretary (H&FW) on 30.11.2015 involving the Medical Superintendents of all the Government hospitals of Delhi. While furnishing the details of the decisions taken for better functioning of the Government hospitals, it is also stated that the respondent No.1/Government of NCT of Delhi is committed to ensure to provide better health facilities in all Government hospitals. 3.

A copy of the said Action Taken Report dated 06.01.2016 has been served on the learned counsel for the petitioner. Having heard the learned counsel for both the parties and having regard to the details furnished in the Action Taken Report, we do not think it is necessary to keep the petition pending any longer.

Accordingly, the Action Taken Report is taken on record and the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent No.1 to periodically monitor the conditions in all the Government hospitals and take all the necessary measures to ensure efficient functioning of the same.
