Issue notice. The learned counsel for the respondent accepts notice. 2.
The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia, praying as under:- "(i) this Honble Court be pleased, to issue a writ/order/direction in the nature of Mandamus and/or Certiorari or any other writ /order calling for records in respect of correspondence between the office of Dte. Gen of Rtg/Rtg-A(NCC),West Block, R.K.Puram New Delhi seeking clarification in respect of status of educational qualification of the Petitioner ,and direct the respondent to give an appropriate/ suitable reply without causing any more delay."

The petitioner had appeared in the Combined Defence Services Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment of officers on short service commission in the Armed Forces, in
the year 2016.
The petitioner was declared successful and was called to appear for an interview before the SSB in the month of March, 2017. The petitioner states that he cleared the interview and was, thereafter, called upon to appear for medical examination. He asserts that he has also been found medically fit. However, the petitioner has not been appointed as yet since there is some issue with regard to his education qualifications, which are indicated hereafter.

The petitioner claims that he had studied in OPJS University Churu, Rajasthan and completed his graduation in Commerce from the said university in the year 2016. The said course was for three years, that is, 2013-14, 2014-15 and 2015-16. The Provisional Certificate certifying that the petitioner had completed the said course was issued by the said University on 22.05.2017 and the same was forwarded by the petitioner to the Directorate General of Recruitment.

Prior to the petitioner joining the Rajasthan University, the petitioner had been enrolled in Zakir Husain College for undergoing the course of B. Com (Hons) for the period July, 2011 to April, 2014. It is the petitioner's case that although he was enrolled with Zakir Husain College he did not complete his studies. The petitioner further states that although during the year 2013-2014 the petitioner was enrolled with both the Rajasthan University as well as the Delhi University, he had not pursued the course in Zakir Husain College, Delhi University but had attended the classes at OPJS University Churu, Rajasthan University.

The petitioner has further averred that the Directorate General of Recruitment has sought clarification from the respondent (University Grants Commission) by a letter sent in June, 2017, however, the respondent has not
responded to the said letter as yet.

In the aforesaid facts, the respondent is directed to examine the said issue and communicate its views to the Directorate General of Recruitment within a period of one week from today.
The petitioner would also be entitled to obtain a copy for the same.

There is some urgency in the matter as it is stated that the last date for the petitioner to join the course is 23.10.2017. The respondent (UGC) bear that in mind and ensure that the order is complied with strictly with the time as indicated above.

The petition is disposed of with the aforesaid directions. 10.
