The petitioners have filed the present petition under Section 482 of Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 for quashing of FIR No. 93/2016 under Sections 323/354/354-B/451/34 of Indian Penal Code, 1860 ('IPC') registered at Police Station Maurya Enclave, Delhi and all the consequential proceedings emanating therefrom.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that the parties have settled their disputes vide a Compromise/Settlement Deed dated 03.11.2018 on their own free will and without any undue influence, force or coercion. 3.

Respondent No. 2/Smt. Mamta Devi is present in court

with her husband Sh. Ganga Paswan and submitted that she has entered into the Settlement on her own free will and without any undue pressure, force or coercion. She further submitted that she does not have any objection in case the FIR in question is quashed.

The Investigating Officer is present in court and has identified the petitioners and the respondent No. 2. He has also verified about the Settlement Agreement arrived at between the parties.

In view of the aforesaid circumstances, the settlement arrived at between the parties, and the fact that the parties are living happily and intends to live as good citizens, this court is of the view that no fruitful purpose would be served in keeping the parties entangled in the criminal proceedings. Accordingly, in the interest of justice, FIR No. 93/2016 under Sections 323/354/354-B/451/34 of IPC, registered at Police Station Maurya Enclave, Delhi and all the consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are hereby quashed.
