CRL.M.C. 5944/2018 1.

This is a petition under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 for quashing of FIR No.702/2015 under Sections 354/506 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (IPC), registered with Police Station Jamia Nagar, New Delhi and the proceedings emanating therefrom.

Petitioner, as well as respondent No.2 who is present in the Court along with her father, submitted that they have compromised and amicably settled the matter with the intervention of family members and now there is no grievance or dispute between them. The

parties further submitted that a settlement deed dated 20.11.2018 was executed between them.

Investigating Officer (I.O.), present in the Court, identified the petitioner and the respondent No.2 and also verified about the settlement arrived at between the parties. I.O. stated that there is no criminal antecedent of the petitioner. Respondent No.2 also submitted that she has got married now and has a male child and wants to live her married life peacefully and blissfully. Respondent No.2 as well as her father stated that the compromise has been arrived at between the parties on their free will, without any pressure, undue force or coercion and the aforesaid FIR as well as the proceedings emanating therefrom may be quashed.

In view of settlement arrived at between the parties and the marriage of respondent No.2, this Court is of the view that no fruitful purpose would be served in keeping the parties entangled in the criminal proceedings. Accordingly, in the interest of justice, FIR No.702/2015 under Sections 354/506 of the IPC, registered with Police Station Jamia Nagar, New Delhi and the proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.

Petition is disposed of in above terms.
