After some arguments, learned counsel for the petitioner seeks leave to withdraw the petition. He, however, submits that since only few formal witnesses are left to be recorded, the trial court be directed to expedite the trial.

Learned Addl. PP for the State confirms that about 4 formal witnesses are remaining and the next date fixed in the case is 05.03.2018. 3.
The Petition is dismissed as withdrawn.

Keeping in view the facts and circumstances of the case, the trial court is requested to expedite the recording of evidence and endeavour to conclude the proceedings within six months from today. 5.
