% 22.09.2015 Petitioner No.1, after changing her religion, married petitioner No.2. The petitioners state that they have married each other out of their own free will. There has not been any coercion by petitioner No.2 to get petitioner No.1 converted to Hindu religion.
Both the petitioners were apprehensive of reprisal at the hands of respondent No.2, father of petitioner No.1 and respondents No.3 and 4, who are brothers of petitioner No.1.
The petitioners, father of petitioner No.2 and respondent No.2, who is the father of petitioner No.1, are present in the Court.
Mr. Mohd. Ayub, respondent No.2 and father of petitioner No.1 has categorically stated before the Court that he wishes to maintain his
relationship with his daughter and the son in law. He further submits that the apprehensions in the minds of petitioners are totally unfounded. The respondent No.2 acknowledges the fact once a child becomes major it is only her/his wish, which has to prevail. Considering this aspect of the matter, there is no requirement of issuing any direction to the SHO of the concerned police station, in whose territorial jurisdiction the petitioners are residing for affording protection to the petitioners.
The SHO of the concerned police station is,but, directed to give his mobile telephone number and telephone number of one of the officers of the police station to the petitioners. The petitioners, if required, may contact the SHO or the second officer of the police station. The SHO as well as the second officer is expected to act with utmost despatch and in accordance with law.
