By this petition, the petitioner seeks quashing of FIR No.294/2016 under Section 135 of the Indian Electricity Act registered at PS Mehrauli on the complaint of the officer of respondent No.2 on the ground that parties have settled the matter.

Mr.Pradeep Basoya, Assistant Legal Manager of respondent No.2 is present in Court and is identified by the learned counsel for respondent No.2. He states that petitioner has already paid a sum of `14,800/- and a no due certificate has already been issued to the petitioner. He states that since W.P.(CRL) 3618/2018
the dues have been submitted by the petitioner, he has instructions and is competent to state on behalf of respondent No.2 that respondent No.2 does not wish to pursue the abovenoted FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto and the same be quashed. Statement of authorized representative of respondent No.2 is affirmed by the petitioner who is present in Court and is identified by the learned counsel.

Since the parties have settled the matter, no useful purpose will be served in continuance of the proceedings, it would be in the interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question. 4.
Consequently, FIR No.294/2016 under Section 135 of the Indian Electricity Act registered at PS Mehrauli and proceedings pursuant thereto are hereby quashed.

Parties have signed this order sheet in acknowledgment of their statements made before this Court.

Petition is disposed of. Order dasti.
