Mr. Rahul Mehra, the learned Senior Standing Counsel (Criminal) accepts notice on behalf of GNCTD.
With the consent of the parties, the petition is taken up for disposal. The petitioner apprehends a threat to her safety and security and that of one of her two children, namely, Master Manan Verma, aged 4 1⁄2 years. She has made a complaint to the Police. Mr. Rahul Mehra states that the complaint is being looked into. The daughter Ms. Doris Verma is residing with her father. However, considering the immediate nature of her apprehension, the police shall look into her particular need for safety. As an interim measure, the petitioner shall be provided with the telephone number of the Beat Constable as well as cell phone number of a lady police officer of the area where the petitioner is residing. The complete address of the
petitioner shall be furnished to the Investigating Officer/SI Madan Lal, P. S. Dabri, so that the petitioner may contact the police in any exigency. The I.O. shall interact with the petitioner within a day to assess the level and need of the petitioner's security. It is expected that the police shall respond to her promptly, should the need arise for the same. The writ petition is disposed off with the above directions. NAJMI WAZIRI, J.
