The petitioners, by the present petition, seek quashing of FIR No.32/2014 under Section 498-A/406/34 IPC, Police Station Narela. 2.

The subject FIR has been registered on the complaint of the respondent No.2. The subject FIR emanates out of a matrimonial discord.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the parties have settled their disputes through the process of mediation, held at Mediation Centre, Rohtak on 11.07.2017. The parties have already applied for the second motion, which is scheduled to be taken up on CRL.M.C. 4442/2017

A total sum of Rs.6,00,000/- was agreed to be paid in full and final settlement of all her claims. The entire amount of Rs.6,00,000/- has been paid to the respondent No.2, which is acknowledged by the respondent No.2.

The respondent No.2 is present in person, represented by her counsel and is identified by the Investigating Officer. She submits that she has settled her disputes with the petitioners and does not wish to press charges against the petitioners and prosecute the complaint any further.

In view of the fact that the proceedings emanate out of a matrimonial discord and the parties have fully and finally settled their disputes and the respondent No.2 has stated that she does not wish to press the complaint any further and in the interest of justice, in my view, it would be expedient to quash the subject FIR and the consequent proceedings emanating there from.

In view of the above, FIR No.32/2014 under Section 498A/406/34 IPC, Police Station Narela and the consequent proceedings emanating there from are quashed.
