A status report prepared by the DCP (North-West Distt.), Delhi is handed over by Mr.Rahul Mehra, learned Standing Counsel (Crl.) for the State in Court, wherein it is stated that a show cause notice was issued to SI Amit Kumar for his failure to investigate the present case in a professional manner and show negligence and carelessness. In the said show cause notice, a period of two weeks was granted to the addressee to file his reply, but no reply has been received from him so far. He states that if no reply is received within the time so extended by the department, then further action shall be taken in accordance with law.

In view of the aforesaid statement made by the learned Standing

Counsel for the State, no further orders are called for in this petition. The petition was kept alive only to await initiation of action against SI Amit Kumar. Now that action has been initiated against him by the disciplinary authority, the decision taken shall be placed on record within eight weeks, failing which the Registry shall place the matter back before the Court.
