Learned counsel for the petitioner prays that since the petitioner has been incarcerated for the last over five years, he would not press this petition, if directions are issued to the Trial Court to expedite the proceedings.

Keeping in view the facts and circumstances of the case, the Trial Court is directed to expedite the recording of the prosecution witnesses and preferably conclude the same within a period of one year from the next date of hearing (i.e. 28.04.2018).

In view of the above, learned counsel for the petitioner prays withdrawal of his petition.

4.

The Petition is dismissed as withdrawn.
