O R D E R

% 06.11.2017 The petitioner seeks quashing of FIR no. 0146/16 dated 29.06.2016 lodged at Police Station, Lahori Gate filed by her against Respondent nos. 3 and 4 who are her brother-in-law and father-in-law respectively. The complaint was registered on the basis of her complaint to the Police Station Lahori Gate U/s 323/354/354B/352 of IPC. The learned Counsel for the petitioner submits that an amicable settlement has been arrived at between the parties and the parties have settled their differences whereunder Respondent nos. 3 and 4 have extended apologies to the petitioner for any inconvenience caused to her person and/or her privacy and rights. The petitioner now lives in a separate accommodation with her husband. Respondent nos. 3 and 4 are present in court and reiterate the aforesaid settlement and understanding. The respondents have assured the

Court that they do and shall respect the petitioner's rights and interested in peaceful co-existence.

Respondent nos. 3 and 4 have tendered their respective undertakings, which are taken on record, to the effect, that they shall not contact the petitioner in any manner whatsoever and they respect her relationship with her husband and her individuality, and the petitioner has their good wishes and blessings.

It is stated by Counsel that the petitioner does not wish to pursue her complaint with the police any further as she would rather move on with the business of living albeit without hindrance or harassment from any quarter. Counsel further states that the petitioner would rather strive to retain and perhaps in time restore, interrupted social ties. Therefore she would not like to prosecute any criminal complaint.

In the circumstances, the Court is of the view that any further proceedings emanating from the aforesaid FIR would be an exercise in futility. Accordingly, the FIR no. 0146/16 dated 29.06.2016 lodged with Lahori Gate Police Station and proceedings arising therefrom are quashed. The petition is disposed off.
