% 02.11.2017 The petitioners are majors and of their own volition, have married with each other on 27.09.2017.

It has been submitted that because petitioner no. 1 is a Hindu and has married with a person belonging to a different religion, the parents of petitioner no. 1 are absolutely unhappy and have, in fact, tried to force the petitioner no. 1 to get out of the wedlock.

The petitioners have been threatened of dire consequences, in case they continue to live as man and wife.

Hence, the present petition seeking protection. This court has interacted with the petitioners. It appears that the petitioner no. 1 got in touch with petitioner no. 2 as he stayed in her

neighbourhood.

The petitioner No.1 was afraid that if she did not marry petitioner No.2, she would have been forced to marry somebody else who was the choice of her parents and in whom petitioner No.1 was not interested.

As of now, this court does not require the necessity of issuing notice to respondents no. 3 and 4, the parents of petitioner no. 1. The SHO of Jamia Nagar, Okhla PS is directed to afford protection to the petitioners for their life and liberty.

For the aforesaid purpose, the petitioners shall be provided the telephone numbers of two police officers posted in the PS and in case of any distress call by the petitioners on those numbers, it should be promptly attended.

With these observations, the present writ petition is disposed of. Dasti.
