% 17.07.2018 Notice. Learned APP accepts notice for respondent no. 1. Respondent no.2-Ms. Sarita is present in Court along with her counsel, who accepts notice. She has been identified by SI Saurabh of police station Govind Puri Respondent no.2 submits that she has settled the matter with the petitioner of her own free will and without any undue force, pressure or coercion before the Mediation Centre, Saket Court, New Delhi on 30th March, 2016. Her marriage with petitioner has already been dissolved by a decree of divorce by mutual consent dated 31st January, 2017 passed by the Family Courts, South-East District, Saket, New Delhi. Respondent no. 2 submits that she has already received entire settled amount and she has no

objection in case FIR No. 990/2015 under Sections 498-A/406 IPC registered at Police Station Govind Puri is quashed. Affidavit of respondent no.2 is also on record in this regard at pages 52-54. Keeping in mind the settlement arrived at between the petitioner and respondent no. 2 voluntarily, in my view, no fruitful purpose would be served in keeping the criminal proceedings pending. Accordingly, in the interest of justice, aforesaid FIR and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.

Petition is disposed of in the above terms.
