versus THE UNION OF INDIA & ORS ..... Respondents Through:

CORAM:
HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE VIBHU BAKHRU
O R D E R
% 29.11.2018 1.
The petitioner - a widow of Shaurya Chakra Awardee - has filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that the compensation of ₹10,00,000/- be provided to the petitioner.
2.
The petitioner's husband was awarded Shaurya Chakra posthumously. The learned counsel for the GNCTD contends that keeping in view the representation of the petitioner, GNCTD has decided to amend the scheme to award compensation of ₹10,00,000/- to next of kin of Civilians Shaurya Chakra Awardees, as well. It is stated that the compensation of ₹10,00,000/- has already been disbursed to the petitioner and, therefore, her grievance in this regard does not survive.
3.
The learned counsel for the petitioner accepts that the compensation has been received by the petitioner; however she prays that the petitioner be also compensated for the expenses incurred by per in pursuing her claim. This Court is not persuaded to accept the said prayer. Since the petitioner
has been paid the compensation as sought by her, no further orders are required to be passed in this petition.
4.
The petition is, accordingly, disposed of.
