The petitioners seek quashing of FIR No.886/2007 under Section 354/365 and 366 IPC, Police Station Prashant Vihar, based on a settlement.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that parties have since settled their disputes. It is informed that both the petitioner as well as the respondent No.2 have respectively got married and are settled with their respective families.

Respondent Nos.2 and 3 are present in Court in person, represented by their counsel and are identified by the Investigating Officer.

They submit that they have settled their disputes with the petitioner and do not wish to press charges against the petitioner any further.

In view of the fact that the parties have settled their disputes and respondent Nos. 2 and 3 do not wish to prosecute the complaint, continuation of criminal proceedings will be an exercise in futility and justice in the case demands that the dispute between the parties is put to an end and peace is restored; securing the ends of justice being the ultimate guiding factor. It would be expedient to quash the subject FIR and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom. 5.

Accordingly, the subject FIR No.886/2007 under Sections 365/366/354 IPC, Police Station Prashant Vihar, as well as the consequent proceedings arising therefrom are quashed, subject to the petitioner depositing costs of Rs.10,000/- with the "Prisoners Welfare Fund, Jail No. 13, Mandoli", Mangal Pandey Marg, Harsh Vihar, Village Mandoli, Delhi, within a period of three weeks from today. Receipt of deposit of the costs imposed by this Order be furnished to the concerned Investigating Officer within a period of four weeks from today.
