On the last date of hearing, learned counsel for the petitioner had sought time to obtain instructions from his client as to whether he proposes to pursue the present petition or not. Today, learned counsel states that he has instructions to pursue the present petition. 2.

On a perusal of the paper book, it transpires that the petitioner has assailed the orders dated 17.10.2015 and 08.12.2015, passed by the Disciplinary Authority, imposing upon him a penalty of punishment by reduction of pay from Rs.11,000/- + Rs.2,800 Grade Pay to Rs.10,590 + W.P.(C) 313/2018

2,800 Grade Pay in the time scale of pay for a period of two years, along with a clarification that the petitioner will not earn any further increment in the pay, during the period of reduction.

We have enquired from learned counsel for the petitioner as to whether the petitioner has exhausted his statutory remedy by filing a revision petition before the Revisional Authority, prior to filing the present petition. Learned counsel concedes that the petitioner has not exhausted the statutory remedy.
