% 20.11.2017 Petitioner, who appears in person, chooses to argue this petition himself. The grievance of petitioner is that his right to 1% preferential rate of interest on the deposits made by him with the respondent-Bank be restored from the date from which the same were denied to him i.e. from 1st April, 2014. The other prayer made in this petition is for grant of compensation on account of illegal termination of petitioner's service by respondent-Bank and to penalize respondent-Bank for illegally terminating petitioner's service.

So far as petitioner's claim for 1% preferential rate of interest on the deposits made by him with respondent-Bank is concerned, it is informed by petitioner that he has already filed a complaint with the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum on 2nd June, 2014 and he claims that the said Forum has orally informed him that they cannot W.P.(C) 10297/2017

decide this dispute.

If petitioner has already made a complaint before the aforesaid Forum, then petitioner ought to obtain orders on his complaint and for this purpose, he can move an application before the said Forum. This Court is of the considered view that if petitioner's complaint of 2nd June, 2014 is still pending, then it be decided by the aforesaid Forum with expedition.

So far as petitioner's claim for grant of compensation on account of illegal termination of his services is concerned, the same cannot be entertained in this petition as it requires evidence to be led and so, petitioner is relegated to avail of the remedies of filing a civil suit.
