W.P.(CRL) 3152/2017 The petitioners seek protection from the police as they apprehend troubles at the hands of respondents No.3, 4 and 5 who are the father of petitioner No.1 and his associates respectively. The petitioners are majors, who have of their own volition and choice, married each other on 09.11.2017 in an Arya Samaj temple. Though an attempt was made by petitioner No.1 to convince her father and other family members about the correctness of her choice of marrying petitioner No.2, but the respondent No.3 did not accept such marriage and threatened the petitioners No.1 and 2 of serious consequences.

Hence, this petition.

The petitioner No.2 had been persecuting his studies at NIT, Patna and because of the fear of reprisal, he along with petitioner No.1 has come to Delhi and is now residing under the territorial jurisdiction of P.S. Mandawali.

The petitioners have provided their address to Ms. Megha Bahl, learned counsel for the State who has transmitted the same to an officer of the concerned police station, who is in attendance in the court. The SHO of the concerned police station is directed to afford all protection to the petitioners.

For the aforesaid purpose, the petitioners shall be provided telephone numbers of two police officers posted in the concerned police station and the petitioners shall be assured that in case of any SOS call from them, the same shall be responded in a proactive manner.

With the aforesaid direction/observation, the present writ petition is disposed of.
