versus DIVISIONAL COMMISSIONER GOVT. OF NCT OF DELHI AND ANR.

CORAM:
HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE VIBHU BAKHRU
O R D E R
% 13.02.2019 1.
The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that directions be issued to respondent no.1 (Government of NCT of Delhi) to conduct an inquiry regarding the alleged scam relating to the properties of the Delhi Wakf Board.
2.
The petitioner has referred to four properties which, according to the petitioner, have been leased out at a fraction of their value. Further, although the lessees have expired, no proceedings have been initiated to re-posses the properties in question.
3.
It is seen that two of the properties as mentioned by the petitioner
are being used for running a school (which is charitable activity). It is difficult to accept that leasing land to educational institutions at concessional rates warrants any inquiry.
4.
Having stated the above, since the petitioner has made a complaint, respondent no.1 is required to examine the same. It will be open for the respondent to seek comments from respondent no.2 (Delhi Wakf Board) in this regard.
The decision with regard to the said complaint shall be informed to the petitioner, as and when the same is taken.
5.
No further orders are required to be passed in this petition. The same is disposed of.
