CORAM:
HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE A.K. PATHAK
O R D E R
% 12.07.2018 Respondent No.2 /Major Ritu D. Solanki is being represented through her father/ Special Power of Attorney, Col. T.S. Solanki. Copy of the Special Power of Attorney has been placed on record. Col. T.S. Solanki, submits that the matter has been settled between the petitioner and respondent No.2 on 15th April, 2017 without any undue pressure, force or coercion. The marriage between petitioner and respondent no.2 has already been dissolved by a decree of divorce by mutual consent dated 20th November, 2017 passed by the Family Court, Gurugram. Attorney of respondent No.2 further states that entire settled amount stands paid and respondent No.2 has no objection in case FIR is quashed. Keeping in mind the settlement arrived at between the petitioner and
respondent no. 2 voluntarily, in my view, no fruitful purpose would be served to keep the criminal proceedings pending. Accordingly, in the interest of justice, FIR no.457/2014 under Sections 498-A/406/34 IPC registered at Police Station Timar Pur and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.
Petition is disposed of in the above terms.
