O R D E R

% 01.02.2018 The petitioners seek quashing of the present FIR No.672/2015 registered under Sections 498-A/406 of the IPC at Police Station Krishna Nagar on the complaint of respondent No. 2. Respondent No. 2 is present and her presence has been identified by the Investigating Officer as also by her counsel.

Parties i.e. petitioner No.1 and respondent No. 2 had been married on 26.01.2014. They have now been divorced by a decree of divorce by mutual consent on 19.09.2017. Parties had arrived at a wholesome settlement in terms of which petitioner No.1 had agreed to pay ₹ 4 lacs to respondent No. 2 in full and final settlement of all her

claim of which ₹2 lacs already stands paid. Balance sum of ₹2 lacs has been paid by way of a demand draft. This settles the dispute between the parties.

This is a fit case where to secure the ends of justice, it would be in the interest of things that proceedings in the present FIR be quashed. Accordingly FIR No.672/2015 registered under Sections 498-A/406 of the IPC at Police Station Krishna Nagar and all proceedings emanating thereto are quashed.

Petition disposed of.
