The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia, aggrieved with the delay in deciding the appeal preferred by the petitioner against the order dated 04.08.2017 passed pursuant to a complaint (complaint no.305/2017) preferred under the provisions of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007. It has been pointed out that a year has passed since the said appeal was filed.

In this view, the Appellate Tribunal (District Magistrate, South) is directed to decide the petitioner's appeal in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible and in any event not later than eight weeks from today.
