% 20.11.2017 The petitioners have sought protection against the threat of reprisal at the hands of respondents No.5 to 9.

Petitioner No.1/Kailash has married petitioner No.2/Ruby in a temple. Both the petitioners No.1 and 2 are majors and have taken a conscious decision of marrying. The marriage has been accepted fully by the parents of Kailash.

However, respondent No.5, the brother of Ruby, has been threatening the petitioners No.1 and 2 of dire consequences. Respondents No.6 to 9 are from the side of petitioner No.2. Ms. Megha Bahl, learned advocate appearing for the State, on instructions, submitted that on the application of the petitioners, an inquiry was conducted and it was found that the petitioners No.1 and 2, for the fear of respondents No.5 to 9, have not been staying at the house of petitioners

No.3 and 4 i.e. the parents of petitioner No.1. However, on further probe, it came to light that the father of petitioner No.2 has now reconciled to the marriage of his daughter with petitioner No.1 and has, in fact, given an assurance that he would not create any disturbance in the matrimonial affairs/life of petitioners No.1 and 2.

Be that as it may, since respondent No.5 has been troubling the petitioners, this court deems it necessary to direct the Officer-in-charge of the concerned police station to afford all protection to the petitioners. For the aforesaid purpose, the petitioners No.1 and 2 shall inform Ms. Megha Bahl about their place of stay; which information shall be transmitted to the Officer in-charge of the concerned police station and would not be leaked out. The petitioners No.1 and 2 shall be provided telephone numbers of two officers posted in the concerned police station and in case of any SOS call from the petitioners No.1 and 2, prompt action shall be taken. With the aforesaid observation and direction, the writ petition is disposed of.
