At joint request, the petition is taken up for final disposal. According to the documents annexed with the petition, both the petitioners have attained the age of majority. They married each other on 17.11.2017 out of their own volition.

A photocopy of their Marriage Certificate is annexed with the petition. Evidently the marriage did not find the favour of the parents of petitioner No. 1 Smt. Daljeet Kaur.

They apprehend threat of their life, limb and liberty from her father and her other relatives arrayed as respondent Nos. 2 to 7. They seek protection from the said respondents. In the circumstances, the SHO of the area concerned i.e. SHO of Police Station Vijay Vihar shall interact with the petitioners in the

course of the day and assess their threat perception and shall accord appropriate security to them. He shall also supply to the petitioners mobile telephone numbers of two police officers of his jurisdiction, one who whom shall be a lady police officer. These numbers shall be operational all times so that the petitioners may contact them in case of exigency. It is expected that any intimation regarding threat to the petitioners shall be promptly attended to.

The petitioners shall intimate the aforesaid SHO as well as the SHO of such other area where they may shift their residence to.

The petition stands disposed off in the above terms. NAJMI WAZIRI, J.
