versus DIRECTOR GENERAL (PRISON) AND ORS.

..... Respondents Through:

Mr Satyakam, Additional Standing Counsel, GNCTD with Mr Amrish, Office of DG (Prisons).

CORAM:

HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE VIBHU BAKHRU

O R D E R

% 01.12.2017 CM No.43872/2017 1.

Allowed, subject to all just exceptions.

W.P.(C) 10705/2017 2.

The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that directions be issued to respondent no.1 to issue Jail visiting pass to the petitioner with immediate effect.

3.

The petitioner's grievance as voiced in the petition is that he had applied to the Jail Authorities for a visiting pass to conduct classes in the jail premises, however, the petitioner's application has not been processed as yet.

4.

Mr Satyakam, learned counsel who appears for the respondents on

advance notice states that the petitioner's request has been rejected. He has handed over the relevant documents including the decision of the jail authorities in this regard, to the learned counsel for the petitioner. 5.

In view of the above, the present petition does not survive and is, accordingly, disposed of.

6.

Needless to mention that this order would not preclude the petitioner from challenging the decision of the respondents to deny him passes if he is otherwise entitled to in law.

VIBHU BAKHRU, J DECEMBER 01, 2017 MK
