% 11.07.2018 Respondent no.2 Ms.Lata is present along with her counsel in Court and has been identified by SI Vipin Kumar of PS Kalyan Puri. She submits that she has settled the matter with the petitioner no.1 of her own free will and without any undue force, pressure or coercion before the Delhi Mediation Centre, Karkardooma Courts, Delhi on 23.08.2017. It is submitted that proceedings under Section 125 of Cr.P.C. filed by the respondent no.2 is pending and will continue, as the same are not part of mediation settlement which is only in respect of disputes involved in the FIR.

Petitioner no.1 has paid `50,000/- to the respondent no.2 today in Court, in terms of clause 2 of the mediation proceedings dated 23.08.2017,

vide a demand draft, photocopy whereof has been placed on record. Respondent no.2 submits that she has no objection in case FIR No. 590/1997 under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC registered at police station Kalyanpuri is quashed against the petitioner no.1 and his relatives, that is, petitioner nos. 2 & 3.

Keeping in mind the settlement arrived at between petitioner no.1 and respondent no.2 voluntarily, in my view, no fruitful purpose would be served in keeping the criminal proceedings pending. Accordingly, in the interest of justice, aforesaid FIR and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.

Petition is disposed of in the above terms.
