% 29.01.2018 By this petition, the petitioner challenges the order dated 2nd November, 2017 passed by the competent authority i.e. the D.G. (Prisons) rejecting grant of furlough to the petitioner on the ground of his un-satisfactory behaviour having punishment on 24th October, 2016. A perusal of the nominal roll reveals that after the punishment dated 24th October, 2016, the petitioner availed furlough with effect from 26th October, 2016, granted by the D.G. (Prisons) and a further furlough by this Court granted with effect from 21st August, 2017. Be that as it may, since more than one year has lapsed from grant of the last punishment to the petitioner, the writ petition filed by the petitioner be treated as an application for grant of furlough and decision thereon be taken by the competent authority within four weeks. Writ petition is disposed of accordingly.
A copy of this order be also communicated to the D.G. (Prisons) and the petitioner through Superintendent, Tihar Jail. MUKTA GUPTA, J.
