The petitioners have filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that FIR No. 52/2018 under Section 498-A/406/377/34/354 IPC, registered at P.S. Inder Puri and all proceedings arising therefrom, be quashed. 2.

The present petition has been premised on the settlement dated 03.12.2018 arrived at between the respondent no.2 and the petitioners. Petitioner no.1 and respondent no.2 were married and in terms of the said settlement, they have agreed to divorce each other by mutual consent. 3.

Petitioner no.1 had further agreed to pay a total sum of ₹8,50,000/- in four instalments. Out of the aforesaid amount, a sum of ₹6,50,000/- has already been paid to respondent no.2 and petitioner no.1 is now required to pay a further sum of ₹2 lakhs.

Respondent no.2 is present in Court and is identified by the Investigating Officer. She states that she has no grievance against the petitioners and does not wish to pursue the FIR in question. She also states

that with the receipt of the sum of ₹2 lakhs, she will have no further claims against the petitioners.

The petitioners are also present in Court and are identified by their counsel. They have handed over a demand draft for a sum of ₹2,00,000/- drawn at Punjab National Bank (DD No. 493550 dated 02.08.2019). Respondent no.2 has accepted the said demand draft in full and final settlement of all her dues.

The petitioners also state that they have no further grievance or disputes with respondent no.2. 6.

In view of the above, the FIR No. 52/2018 under Section 498A/406/377/34/354 IPC, registered at P.S. Inderpuri and all proceedings arising therefrom, be quashed.

The petitioners and respondent no. 2 shall sign this order as an acknowledgement of their statements recorded herein. 8.

The petition is disposed of. The pending application is also disposed of.
