O R D E R

% 10.12.2018 The petitioners claim to be legal adults and have married each other of their free volition. Respondent no. 4-father of petitioner no.1 is said to be inimical to them as the said marriage is without his consent. The petitioners apprehend a threat to their life, limb and liberty from respondent no. 4 and accordingly seek protection for the same from this Court. Ms. Kamna Vohra, the learned counsel for the State submits that the police has impressed upon respondent no. 4 to maintain peace as well as to the fact that legal adults have a right to make their own decision in choosing a life partner and nobody can interfere in the exercise of such right. The learned counsel for the petitioners submits that in the interim, the issues with the petitioners and the said respondent have been sorted out and she faces no threaten from her paternal family. Nevertheless, telephone numbers of police officers are stated to have been given to the petitioners to contact the police, in case of any exigency.

The learned counsel for the petitioners does not press the petition further.
