WP(CRL) 3507/2017 Parties have settled their dispute. The present FIR (FIR No.0842/2015 under Sections 498A/406/34 of the IPC) was registered at police station Saket. Petitioner no.1 and respondent no.2 have since been granted divorce by mutual consent vide judgment and decree dated 21.9.2017 by the Family Court at Gurugram. In terms of the aforenoted settlement petitioner no.1 has agreed

to pay a total sum of Rs.45 lakhs to respondent no.2 of which Rs.30 lakhs already stands paid and Rs.15 lakhs have been paid to the respondent no.2 by way of a demand draft (Annexure P-7) which amount has been accepted by respondent no.2. The child born from the wedlock of the petitioner no.1 and respondent no.2 is presently in the custody of respondent no.2. Visitation rights in terms of the judgment and decree dated 21.9.2017 have been granted to the petitioner no.1.

Parties having settled their disputes, this is a fit case where the FIR should be quashed. Accordingly, in the interest of justice, FIR No.0842/2015 registered under Sections 406/498A/34 of the IPC at police station Saket and all proceedings emanating therefrom stand quashed.

Petition disposed of.
