W.P.(C) 1001/2018 Petitioners had sought appointment on compassionate grounds and it is the case of petitioner that despite service of legal notice dated 23rd January, 2017 (Annexure P-8) appointment on compassionate grounds has not been given to petitioner No.2 and no response to the representation made earlier or to the legal notice (Annexure P-8) has been given.
Despite service of advance notice, none appears on behalf of the respondent.

In the facts and circumstances of this case, this court deems it appropriate to dispose of this petition with direction to respondent to treat the legal notice (Annexure P-8) as representation and to pass speaking order thereon within six weeks.
The fate of the legal notice/representation be made known to the petitioner no.2 within a period of two weeks thereafter, so that petitioner may avail of the remedies as available in law, if need be.
