O R D E R

This order is in continuation of the order dated 6th December, 2017. On the said date, it was noticed that the petitioner was aggrieved by the decision of the respondent to declare him ineligible for the post of SubInspector in Delhi Police/Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) on the ground that while the prescribed height of male candidates in the General Category was 170 cm, the height of the petitioner, according to the respondents, was only 169.5 cm.

On the last date of hearing, learned counsel for the petitioner had stated that the petitioner had approached a private hospital at Delhi for a check-up where his height has been recorded as 171.5 cm. and he met the eligibility criteria, but his candidature had been wrongly turned down by the respondents.

Having regard to the limited scope of the present petition and paucity of time, it was deemed appropriate to direct the petitioner to present himself before the Chief Medical Officer of the Medical Unit in the Delhi High Court Medical Complex, for his height to be measured and a report submitted in that regard.

Pursuant thereto, the petitioner along with an officer of the respondent had appeared before the Medical Officer, Health Unit, Delhi High Court Complex on 8th December, 2017, where his height was taken twice and a report has been filed by the Medical & Health Centre, Delhi High Court. As per the said report, in the first reading, the petitioner‟s height was recorded as 170.4 cm, and in the second reading, the same was recorded as 170.3 cm. The aforesaid report is taken on record.

As a result, the plea of the petitioner that he meets the eligibility criteria of the height prescribed for the post of Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police/Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), is borne out from the Medical Report dated 8th December, 2017, placed on record. 6.

Learned counsel for the respondents, states that apart from the eligibility criteria of height, there are some other criteria which the petitioner must fulfil, in order to be eligible to appear in the main examination that is scheduled on 15th December, 2017.

Subject to the petitioner fulfilling the other criteria as per the rules, the respondents are directed to issue him an Admit Card forthwith to enable him to appear in the Main Examination on the scheduled date. 8.

The present petition is disposed of in the above terms, with no order as to costs.
