% 20.04.2018 By the present petition the petitioner seeks quashing of FIR No.199/2005 under Sections 63/65 of Copyright Act, PS Farsh Bazar, Delhi on the complaint of Respondent No.2 and the proceedings pursuant thereto on the ground that the parties have settled the matter. Respondent No.2 is represented through his authorized representative Dr.Raman Khanna. Authorization in his favour has been handed over in Court and is placed on record. Dr.Raman Khanna is present in Court and is identified by the learned counsel. He states that the respondent No.2 has settled the matter with the petitioner and has been adequately compensated W.P.(CRL) 3420/2017

Thus, respondent No.2 does not wish to pursue the above noted FIR and the proceeding pursuant thereto.

Petitioner who is present in Court and is identified by learned counsel affirms the statement of authorized representative of respondent No.2 and assures that he would not indulge in any such activity in future. To show remorse, he undertakes to deposit a sum of ₹10,000/- with the Delhi High Court Staff Welfare Fund within four weeks.

In view of the fact that the parties have amicably resolved their differences of their own free will, volition and without any coercion and no useful purpose will be served in continuance of the proceedings, it would be in the interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question.

Consequently, FIR No.199/2005 under Sections 63/65 of Copyright Act, PS Farsh Bazar, Delhi and proceedings pursuant thereto are hereby quashed subject to the petitioner abiding by his undertaking of depositing a sum of ₹10,000/- with the Delhi High Court Staff Welfare Fund within four weeks.

Parties have signed this order sheet in acknowledgment of their statements made before this Court.

Petition is disposed of. Order dasti.
