Status report has been filed on behalf of the Director General (Prisons) wherein it is admitted that in view of the punishment awarded to the petitioner for his misconduct on 3rd June, 2017 for recovery tobacco, no furlough has been granted to the petitioner. Further admitting the mistake on the part of the respondent, furlough was granted for the reason the punishment of 3rd June, 2017 was not intimated to the Competent Authority. In view of the status report filed, no further order is required to be passed by this Court, however, the petitioner is at liberty to seek furlough afresh after an year from the date of punishment has elapsed in terms of the policy applicable.

Copy of this order be communicated to the petitioner through Superintendent, Central Jail Tihar.
